Raiding history - Explain what raids you have completed and when

I began hardcore raiding back in late Burning Crusade with a guild called The Logical Cube'. Back then I was maining Holy Paladin (name = Sohime, armoury sadly this toon is a little neglected now). Progress with that guild included realm first Kil'Jaeden kill.

In Wrath of the Lich King we continued hardcore progress -
Naxxramas clear
Obsidium Sanctum - Realm first Twilight Zone
Eye of Eternity clear
Ulduar - Realm First Yogg +0 and Algalon 25 man
Trial of the Crusader - Realm first Anub'arak 10&25 man heroic (though sadly not the 50/50 attempts)

I left The Logical Cube and moved to Darkspear with some friends from TLC and from previous raiding guilds to form Reckless. My reasons for leaving at this time was the immense toll that hardcore raiding was taking on my real life as there was a strong expectation to be clearing multiple difficulties of the current content each week which ate into my personal time and began to affect my studies.
Reckless was founded as a guild for a close set of friends to raid current content, push progression but with a more relaxed attitude and friendlier environment. While we were no longer realm first or second we did continue to keep a high standard and held a top 5 spot on Darkspear for the majority of Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria. During this time I was the main raid leader for Reckless.

Our progress during this time included -
Icecrown Citadel 10 man Heroic clear

Blackwing Descent 5/6 Heroic
Bastion of Twilight 4/5 Heroic (not Sinestra)
Throne of the Four Winds 2/2 Normal (Not heroic)
Firelands 6/7 Heroic
Dragon Soul 8/8 Heroic clear

Mists of Pandaria
Mogu'shan Vaults 6/6 Heroic clear
Heart of Fear 5/6 heroic
Terrace of Endless Spring 3/4 heroic
Throne of Thunder 11/11 normal 2/12 heroic
Siege of Orgrimmar 11/14 heroic

(Also completed challenge mode dungeons and attained the transmogs on 4 different healing classes, plus the Challenge Master achievement for Siege of Niuzao and 'Mistwalker' title)

Warlords of Draenor (For this xpac I changed mains to MW monk)
Highmaul 7/7 heroic (Ahead of the Curve: Imperator's Fall achieved 8/1/15)
Blackrock Foundry 10/10 heroic (Ahead of the Curve: Blackhand's Crucible achieved 6/4/15)
Hellfire Citadel 12/13 heroic

Most of the above is evidenced by the kill videos I made that are still present on YouTube -

At the end of WoD I took a break from WoW as I just wasn't enjoying the game (let's face it, WoD was a pretty terrible expansion). I missed out on the whole of Legion which from what I hear is a bit of a shame as things picked up and were a lot better. I resumed playing in the lead up to BFA.

My current progress in BFA thus far is -
Uldir 8/8 heroic 3/8 mythic
BOD 8/8 normal 7/9 heroic (missed out on Mekkatorque and Stormwall, Ahead of the Curve: Lady Jaina Proudmoore on 2/3/19)

Do you use your abilities in a rotation or priority system for optimal performance? Can you describe, briefly, how it works? Why?

As most healers will tell you there is no 'rotation' for healing, as it is a balance of triaging priority targets, aiming for mana efficiency and minimising overhealing.

That said, for mistweaver the overall priorities are:
-Having statue down!
-Attempting to maintain uptime on Renewing Mists - charges can be saved up and used ahead of predictable AoE damage to improve efficacy and enable synergy with mastery procs and Vivify (which duplicates healing across those with mists active). Thunder Focus Tea can be used with Renewing Mists to increase the duration of the HoT and effectively enable more HoTs to be active at one time for a short period.
-Chi Burst on CD (usually), trying to aim it through the most raid members as possible.
-Essence Font for periods of high raid-wide AoE damage, both for its significant initial heal but also for the HoT it leaves behind. Casting Vivify on party members with the HoT triggers a double mastery proc of Gust of Mists and is useful for both spot and raid healing (from synergy with Renewing Mists).
-Thunder Focus Tea on CD to enhance primarily Renewing Mists (for longer HoT duration and therefore more active HoTs) or for free Vivify casts.
- Mana Tea during periods of high damage to reduce mana cost of spells by 50%. Best used for spamming Vivify on the raid, with an Essence Font right at the end before it expires for maximum mana and time efficiency.
- Burst single target healing from (Vivify->)Soothing Mist -> Enveloping Mist-> Vivify on the tank, usually.
- Life Cocoon for single-target external CD, typically but not always on a tank. Enhances HoT efficacy by 50%.
-Soothing Mist as a filler ability
-Revival - the 'Oh Sh-' button :)

Why do you gear the way you do? Why do you have these items and enchants?

For raids I tend to prefer Mastery -> Versatility -> Crit -> Haste

Mastery synergises with most of MWs abilities and provides a heck of a lot of free healing from Renewing Mists, Vivify and Enveloping Mists. As mentioned, healing a target with Essence Font will result in a double mastery proc. MWs are quite mana-intensive healers, and any free healing is very valuable. Gust of Mists is often one of my highest healing sources during raid encounters.

Versatility again essentially increases overall healing efficacy for free, with the bonus of reducing damage done. Dead = no healing :)

Critical strike for a chance of 'free' healing (see a theme here?). Typically having so many HoTs and heals going out across the raid at any one time results in a lot of extra bang for your buck if the heals also crit.

Haste is a better stat for M+ than for raids, where you'll probably just run oom faster. Increasing the speed of your casts can be useful in clutch situations however a good proportion of MW healing is either instant cast or channelled healing.

Commitment and friendships

Do you know anyone in the guild? Separate by commas

Why do you want to join? What do you expect of us?

I am no longer raid leading following my break from WoW. The reason I am looking to move on from Reckless is that following my break the significant majority of the friends I originally formed the guild with either no longer play or have also moved on to other guilds. What remains is a number of new recruits who I don't have the same history with, a new raid leader who has been very emotional on occasion and rage quit on difficult progress nights, and very casual players who don't take responsibility for their own actions and are not motivated to improve their own gameplay because they get carried through content by the people who do.
While I don't want (and can't, realistically, due to real life and work commitments) to return to a hard-hardcore raiding environment where every spare moment is accounted for, I do want to enjoy raiding with like-minded people who are prepared to put the effort into learning an encounter and self-improvement.
I appreciate that my raiding experience of late in particular is not terribly impressive, but I hope that you can consider my application for its merits and consider my case.

Anything else you'd like us to take into consideration?

I am a doctor, and my job is important to me. While 99% of the time I will be home on time and ready for raids there is always the chance that due to work I may be late because ultimately my patients are my first priority.
I am obliged to do on-call shift work due to my job. Typically this would involve long days or nights in a pattern Mon-Thurs or Fri-Sat. I would typically be expected to be on call once every 4 weeks. With your raid arrangement if I am on call then at worst I should still be able to make 1 out of your 2 main raids. The rest of the time my normal working pattern in 9am to 5pm (GMT) day shifts Monday to Friday, with weekends off. I do know my work in advance and I can always provide adequate warning.
I feel it's important for me to be honest with you about this at the outset than potentially join on false pretenses, and I hope that this doesn't prevent me from being considered.
If you do accept me then I can promise that I can be a valuable and experienced member of your raid team.
Thanks for your time.

I confirm that I have read the guild rules as set out on
