Raiding history - Explain what raids you have completed and when

Though I have started playing in vanilla, levelling as a tank through dungeons (yes, this was long but I loved it). My first raid was Karazhan whne TBC came out and though I then met with some success in WotLK I mostly played RTS game back then and did not progress a lot, quitting the game when Cata came out.
I came back to the game during WOD with HFC recently out and joined a casual guild I would become raid leader for and take them to their first curve having myself pugged 5/13 mythic with no particular issues. When legion came out the guid started bleeding players and after a curve with some Pugs on EN we struggled through Nighthold; as I was tanking on an alt and pugging heroic/mythic with main I decided to go to a new server find a new guild as there were few alliance on mine (Cho'gall EU) and joined What's in The Box on silvermoon; this was not a great idea as the guild disbanded after a few months. I did not do much mythic content then finishing legion with curves in my current guild New Destination.

Since BFA and end of legion I have not had time to raid consistently and have prefered to raid in the casual guild I am in now. However I do not feel the heroic content to be any sort of challenge and find some more in mythic now that I have time to do so once more. Through Pugs there is never much progress to be done obviously and I have only managed to get 2/8 Uldir and 2/9 BoD.

Do you use your abilities in a rotation or priority system for optimal performance? Can you describe, briefly, how it works? Why?

As a tank I prefer to use a priority system as prot warrior (as almost any tank) deals more with procs on rage generating spells and a few defensive abilities to prevent forseeable damage. On single target bosses this means basically using shield slam and thunderclap on cooldown to generate rage to spend on defensives. Depending on the fight those defensive are good to use on cooldown (ignore pain and shield block, not the major cooldowns which are saved for particularly high income of damage) when having aggro. As a dwarf I also have stoneform which is very usefull in some fights (Grong - removes the Bite debuff, Conclave removes Kimbul debuff).

When I play DPS I prefer to go as fury as that is the one I've used most (though not really since Legion). There I also use a priority system to keep up enrage and choose between hard-hitting spells or spells that proc the enrage buff. I lack a lot of practise as DPS though and I can only say in regard to my DPS that I am at least successfull at staying alive and using defensives when high damage is inc such as rallying cry (which admitedly should not be a great feat to anyone)

Why do you gear the way you do? Why do you have these items and enchants?

As a tank I have two sets of gear and a wide selection of trinquets. My first set is made to handle high damage intake with the best self-healing / stat procs to that effect, most of the trinquets I have are defensives that I equip depending on the situation (Healing trink from Uunat, Shield proc from oppulence, Jess' Howler for on-use vers, Rezan's eye for the haste proc,... This depends on whether damage intake is smooth through the fight or has some big hits; also I do not like to have two on-use trinquets because of the trinq GCD unless I can predict that this will not be an issue. To choose these I mostly go with comon sense but I regularly check the good old wisdom chests of the internet for confirmation.

My second set is one I sim for maximum damge output on a fight where damage intake is not high (either because of how it works or over-gearing the fight).

I have a third set for DPS which I selected through simming regularly with new loot but I lack much diversity to apply changes in what I equip depending on the amount of bosses etc as it is my third set.

Do you know anyone in the guild? Separate by commas

No I am afraid I do not

Why do you want to join? What do you expect of us?

Well I've seen your post on the WoW forums and decided that I'd try my luck at a high sucess raiding guild. My current guild is more casual than I'd like at this time though, as I've mentioned, I have little to complain of as this was perfect for me for a long time. I am looking for active people to play with at a challenging level would be the best way to put things.

Anything else you'd like us to take into consideration?

I do not expect that this application will retain much attention as not a lot of recruiting goes to tanks; there being only two in any roster. However if I can add once thing it is that despite failing to go very far in content in the past I do believe that I have a fair understanding of the game. Beside, I'm a chill guy and as an army officer I don't let tense situations affect my emotions. That said if you've read through all of this I thank you for that much at least and hope to see you guys sometime soon. All the best and merry raiding with 8.2 onwards !

PS: I am aware you are on a different server and would not have wasted anyone's time were I not willing to transfer to Frostmane ;)

I confirm that I have read the guild rules as set out on http://silverblade-eu.com/pages/rules

Hello Steelbearded,

Thank you so much for applying and sorry that it's taken a few hours to get back to you.

Unfortunately we've got a backlog of 3 tanks now and we're overly full on melee at this time, so we're going to have to decline at this time. We really appreciate your detailed application though and sorry to give you bad news.

All the best in your search for a guild,

Kind Regards,
